Day 1: Arrive in Killarney, a beautiful little marine based community at the North end of Georgian Bay, and the perfect place to start out from as we make our way towards Little Current, the gateway to the North Channel. Once aboard we'll motor/sail over to Covered Portage Cove, a stunning cove surrounded by rock cliffs making for a beautiful, sheltered bay. After relaxing on deck with a cool drink, enjoy a leisurely hike to the top of the cliffs and take in the breathtaking view of the bay from above. Portage Cove is a great place to enjoy a quiet candle light dinner, a beautiful sunset, and a late night swim.
Day 2: We depart Covered Portage Cove and set sail through the channel, making our way past the Lighthouse at Strawberry Island. As we approach Little Current, we wait for the bridge to open that connects the mainland to Manitoulin Island, the largest fresh water island in the world. Little Current is a bustling Port of Call on Manitoulin Island. It is a place where all sailors stop in for a visit to take in the art galleries featuring local Indian art, and the many little shops and stores which are within easy walking distance. Here we can stay for dinner and drinks at the Anchor Inn Bar & Grill, or we can head out to a quaint nearby anchorage for the night (or maybe even both!).
Day 3:
We head out for a lovely 3-4 hour sail to the Benjamin Islands. Here you will come to appreciate the true beauty of the North Channel. This enchanting group of islands has so much to offer that many guests prefer to spend more than one day here, just to take it all in. Here you can swim, snorkel, picnic, have bonfires on the huge rock beaches, and just explore to your hearts content.
Day 4: From the Benjamin's, there are many ideal little coves in the surrounding area to visit and anchor overnight in. We can choose the perfect one for the evening based on your preferences, and the weather.
Day 5: As we begin our voyage back towards Killarney, we stop in at Little Current to re-provision and pick up any necessary supplies. A great place to visit from here would be Baie Fine (pronounced Bay Fin), where we can anchor in Mary Ann Cove and enjoy a fantastic trek through the woods and quartz hills arriving at the summit and taking in one of the best views of the surrounding area, or continue up the bay to the famous Pools, another sheltered bay with spectacular views.
Day 6: The perfect way to spend your last complete day would be to return to Covered Portage Cove, it truly is an inspiring place. You can leisurely spend your day doing whatever you please, and as usual we'll be at your beckon call, so just relax and let us look after you.
Day 7: Return to Killarney, have a nice breakfast or lunch at the Sportsman's Inn Restaurant, and begin your voyage home, fully relaxed, rejuvenated, and with a smile that shows everyone all the wonderful memories you have acquired on your dream vacation!
